unpredictable waters.

Inspired by hydrofeminism and the waters of Pelion, the exhibition “unpredictable waters” explores the relationship of artistic creation with nature, community and localities. What are the limits of the contemporary artwork? In what ways does it converse with traditional crafts? How cant it contribute to the creation of alternative, more inclusive narratives in the shadow of the climate crisis and the recent Storms Daniel and Elias?
Through 45 artist books by Greek and international artist and five artworks that converse with the Pelion traditions, the exhibition “unpredictable waters” explores the intersections of contemporary art and local crafts, and invite us to reexamine our relationship with the natural and metaphorical landscapes around us.
From digital and analog printing to emboidery and experimental mixed media techniques, the artist books compose a polyphonic narrative that highlights the rhizomatic, parallel conversations between older and newer forms of artistic creation.
